How do you rate my chances?!

DH and I have set a fairly low budget for eachother's pressies this year but he knows that I'm desperate for an SLR camera! He has a habit of panicking about buying me presents (despite me leaving copious amounts of hints for in-budget ideas).

What do you think my chances are that he wont have managed to think of something in budget cos he's ignored all my sensible hints so will just buy me the most beautiful SLR cos its a safe option?!

Well, it depends what your idea of a "low" budget is.

To me it would mean considerably less than the £350 upwards such a camera would cost, so no I wouldn't be expecting it.

Why don't you suggest to him that he gives you really token gifts, send him to poundland! Then buy SLR together in sales. Children won't really be aware of how much something costs, that way you get what you really want at a more attractive price.
