Is oxfam lifelong learning charity gift acceptable?

I think it's a great idea. We gave a "train a teacher" charity gift to dd's teacher last year, with a little note to explain that we had chosen that gift as a token of our appreciation for all that she had done because we hoped that it might give other children an opportunity to benefit from the tremendous difference that a good teacher can make. She seemed very touched, and I think she liked it.

I hope she didn't think it was a selfish choice. :(

I'm slightly confused - are you getting a goat (learning thing) for the nursery teachers instead of a box of roses? I think they will be perfectly happy with that. They must get overwhelmed with roses.

Is it for the teachers? Or the pre school?

For staff.

I dislike charity gifts so personally wouldnt do it. Buying a gift should be about what the person receiving it wants/likes rather than your own taste as such. Charity is very personal to some people and some actively dont give to certain charities.

If you want to get a present for the preschool rather than the staff i'd get either a new toy or replenish the craft items.

It sounds like a lovely idea to me (and I work in a pre school).

:)
