I have been inspired by threads on here in the past to have a go at making my own sweetie vodka in time for christmas, I have bought some pear drops and rhubarb and custars sweets in oreoeration but I have no idea how many I should actually put in- is there a general rule to quantities or will I have to force myself to test it every now and again? I dont want it too strong or too dilute so could do with advice from the experienced please

I put the whole bag (from Aldi so I think about 200g) of the sweets into about half a litre of vodka. The one we've drunk already was very sweet, and we ended up mixing it with lemonade -we had to remind ourselves it was neat vodka before that as it was so sweet it was like an alcopop but was just vodka!
The sweeties don't affect the strength of the vodka at all, they just flavour it. We can't actually tell which one was pear drops and which was rhubarb and custard either, so you might want to label them.
