I love giving Christmas presents and am looking forward to giving all of mine, but I'm most looking forward to seeing my husband's face when he opens his no it's not me

I've got him an iPad2 which is a total surprise as he knows I am broke as am a sahm. He is expecting a t shirt. However, I've been selling stuff on eBay for MONTHS and finally managed to get enough money to buy the iPad. I made loads off my old toys (which are sadly now vintage) and made over 80 on the my little ponies alone!

So think he will be Shock on Christmas morning.

OP, saving for the iPad2 was brilliant btw. Unfortunatley for me DH's heart's desire is a Macbook Pro - I'm giving him 50 quid towards it Xmas Blush

Byeckersitsapropercrimbolike · 06/12/2011 14:39

Agree saving for the ipad ws a great idea, sure he will be really surprised!

Hopefully · 06/12/2011 15:09

tarty has the music thing arrived? Is it nice? Been contemplating something like that for DS2 and had a good week of work so can just about afford it!

babyonbord · 06/12/2011 15:13

also i forgot to add my mumsies, i've bought her 2 charms for her pandora braclet with the first letters of her grandchildrens names on she will love that and i've bought my dh a very very expensive fish tank amongst other things, damn it christmas hurry up

FleetwoodandFairycakes · 06/12/2011 17:46

My just 2 year old's dolls' house as she is really into that sort of thing and will just adore it (I hope!) nothing to do with the fact that I am desperate to play with it Grin

Letchlady · 06/12/2011 18:16

Not quite for Christmas, but my Dh's 40th birthday is just after and I've made him a nostalgia book full of old photos etc I think he'll love it and can't wait to see his face Grin

My Dd is mad about gymnastics (trains 12 hours a week) and recently asked me to sew a piece of cloth 10cm wide that she can use as a makeshift beam. U told her (truthfully) my sewing was rubbish and I probably couldn't do that. So I can't wait to see her face when she opens up the fold up beam I've imported for her. She'll be beside herself.

molepomandmistletoe · 06/12/2011 19:01

All of them!

The Ipod, docking station, kindle and a load of other stuff dd's asked for..the lego, nintendo ds and a shit loads of games for ds, the perfume for my mum which she hasnt been able to get hold of for years, and the set of chisles I bought for my mates at college...

I CANT WAIT!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/12/2011 20:24

Voldermort's Nipple - you can be my nephew if I can be your dd! I googled the necklace and it's gorgeous. Watched the DVD on Sunday afternoon - 'Always' - swoon.

I've got my dad the most enormous fat git history book and really want to keep it for myself - but I think he will be pleased with it.

I do feel bad that dp's presents are so boring so far though. I really want to get him something lovely but am all out of inspiration.

PiratecatClaus · 06/12/2011 20:45

my mum has no idea we have clubbed together to get her a kindle. She loved the idea of them last year but has never mentioned it since, so it will be a huge surprise!

Managed to get a set of Sonic the hedgehog plushes for dd (she asked for anything Sonic) and the original 20 yr Sonic annual. She will be stoked. There's more but they are the best ones.

SnowPlaceLikeHome · 06/12/2011 20:47

Scooter for DS who thinks he isnt getting it until his birthday next year

Gorgeous coffee table book of the current Da Vinci exhibition for my mum - she will love it

VoldemortsNipple · 06/12/2011 21:07

Ok Remus It's official, were family :o

I'm making dcs wait till Christmas eve for HP.

Their Christmas eve hamper contains, pjs, lush bath bomb, a plastic popcorn tub, microwave butterkist, a cone of sweets, Coke glass from maccies and can of Coke.

The plan is watch part one before tea. Then after tea give them their hampers, bath then part 2 with all their goodies. :)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/12/2011 21:21

Sounds lovely. I've bought Home Alone for Christmas Eve, which I hate but dd2 is crazy about. they will get new PJs, some popcorn and (bcause they are teenagers!) a v small Baileys. I love the idea of the bath bomb - might have to copy that for dd1 but dd2 gets excema (which I can never spell) so can't have one - a bottle of E45 doesn't have quite the same association!

molepomandmistletoe · 06/12/2011 21:26

So much for looking forward to giving her the ipod, It's in a right state Xmas Angry.

Seller has been quick to respond though and has given me an address to send it back to.

Oh well.

Vicki1981 · 06/12/2011 21:36

Oh our daughter's smallest things, the ones from father Christmas. Wink It's her first Christmas where she's understood it all and I can't wait to see her excitement! GrinGrin

VoldemortsNipple · 06/12/2011 21:41

Ds2 has excema too. He has been known to cry in the shower before today that the water hurts. Lush do a bath bomb which looks like a baby and is full of soothing things like cammomile. Ds2 had one last year, I only used about a quarter but he was fine and his skin was lovely and soft afterwards. This year I've got him a melting snowman one which is full of soothing ingredients too. Not to mention the house smelled lovely by the end of bathtime. :)

Mole that's really bad luck, I hope you can get another one in time. :( Could you try the Apple store for a reconditioned one? When DSs ipod touch's screen broke, the Apple store said they would replace it with a new one for 75 pounds. Could anybody donate you an old broken one that you could trade for a new one?

molepomandmistletoe · 06/12/2011 21:48

I'll get another one while waiting for the refund as I did a bit to one side just in case this would happen. He's a bit arsey at the moment because I accidently said Shuffle when it was a Nano (been looking at shuffles all day so it's stuck in my head) in the last email.

molepomandmistletoe · 06/12/2011 21:48

*put a bit to one side I mean ffs.

MrsTwinks · 06/12/2011 21:55

Dh is a discworld nut who works in IT. NO idea he is getting an "anthill inside" hoodie. Not even sure he knows they exist. Oh and can't wait to see his face when he see's a Snowy plush (hes also tintin nuts) poking his head out of his stocking.

Our niece has been begging people for this my little pony with light up wings, and we are the ones who got it. So chuffed about this as always feel she forgets our presents as we get one or two and everyone else goes nuts and gets her loads. I put alot of effort into things I hope she will love and hopefully this year she will.

rhondajean · 06/12/2011 22:03

Just everything really. I love giving presents. Im very nervous this year though because Im not sure about DD1 or DH, theyve both been a bit coy about what they want so Ive just gone bonkers. DD2 is fine, she wrote me out a veeeeery looooong list for Santa!!

Im most excited about DD1s birthday 2 days later. Shes got a new ipod touch for Xmas so she most definitely will not be expecting the ipad 2 she is getting. Also the name a star!

WhatWouldLeoDo · 06/12/2011 22:04

I can't wait to give DS (3) all his presents, but I think he'll love a wooden Thomas stool that stores the wooden trains which I found on eBay. We've got some new engines to go in it and I think he'll be more excited by this than anything else!

PontyMython · 07/12/2011 05:34

As an aside, it seems quite normal for mums (and dads too I guess, though I don't talk to as many!) to be more excited about giving presents than receiving them. But you don't expect it from DCs. I thought it was so lovely when my DSD (13) said how excited she is to see everyone open the stuff she's got them. She's really not bothered what she gets herself, she didn't ask for anything particular.

I think she will like her present though, DH found a laptop on eBay :o

EttiKetti · 07/12/2011 06:38

My brother and I got our families together with s camera and tripod and took some photos of us as a group for our parents, they'll be absolutely thrilled, can't wait to see their faces.

Also scrimped to buy dh an lcd tv for the back sitting room. He will go NUTS at the expense although he will have no idea how cheap it actually was, but he never buys himself a single thing and will love playing his xbox on it :o

VoldemortsNipple · 07/12/2011 08:06

pontymython my DD is the same this year. She never has much cash, but this year we have been making snowman soup and I've been selling it in work. I paid her 50p for each one and she's made $40 up to now. Her dad gave her another $20 and she spent the whole lot on presents. She has them all immaculatly wrapped. She can't wait for Christmas to give them out. :)

KinkyDoritoWithFairyLightsOn · 07/12/2011 08:07

Vampire bunny slippers for DD. She wanted a pair like a character in the Morganville Vampire books, and doesn't think you can get them.

Thank you Monty Python and Finland Xmas Grin.

MudAndGlitter · 07/12/2011 08:24

DS's buzz lightyear and tower of doom. He's 2.9 and has been really upset that his current buzz has broken wings and that I trod on his castle and broke it Sad
Hopefully he'll be chuffed!
And DSD's milky the bunny as its all she's asked for
