What do you *really* want for Christmas

Yeah yeah, fred about a fred an' all that...

I've asked for:
Plants for the tiny terrace balcony
Books

What I'd really like is:
For DP to get a job (made redundant earlier this week)
A kindle, other e-reader or tablet pc because we're now sharing a lappy (see above) Far too expensive to ask anyone for when there's house stuff needs sorting
My engagement ring - we've been waiting for the "right time" which was nigh upon us but now isn't (again, see above)

What do you secretly want, but can't ask for?

A tummy tuck Blush

tummytickler · 03/12/2011 23:12

The housework fairy to give me an immaculate house, for just one day (4 dc so it would only last one day Grin )
Or dh to fix all the things that keep breaking and not getting fixed.

PomBearAtTheGatesOfDoom · 04/12/2011 00:41

A house elf. Or failing that, a lottery win for enough money to let us move house. Actually the house collapsing quietly to the ground in a pretty dust cloud (while we are all out, and leaving next doors unharmed of course) would do.

Ragwort · 04/12/2011 00:44

A good night's sleep - I don't have young children, a snoring DH or a job to get up to ............. but I would love to be able to turn my bedside light off at 11pm and wake up at 7am (or even 6am) Smile instead of waking around 3.30am every night for the last fifteen years ................

VelcroFanjo · 04/12/2011 01:19

A car that does not break down...failing that money, to buy a car that does not break down Grin

VelcroFanjo · 04/12/2011 01:21

Oh and a house that :
1 Does not have leaks
2 That has no faulty switches
3 Is not in the arse end of hell

guess Santa won't be able to deliver these Sad

LoopyLoopsWoopDeWoops · 04/12/2011 01:22

House elf would be amazing. Grin Night-time to contain another 8 hours?

I really wanted (and asked for) a new Filofax and a new wallet. I started a new job this week and DH DD got me a Filofax which is also a wallet! Happy days, but no idea what to ask for now!

DianaXXX · 04/12/2011 01:29

To be rehoused by the council Smile so I could have the new place all ready for when my baby arrives in feb Grin

LoopyLoopsWoopDeWoops · 04/12/2011 01:36

hope that happens for you Diana :)

DianaXXX · 04/12/2011 01:44

Thank u Wink

PurplePidjInAPearTree · 04/12/2011 09:29

Fingers crossed for everyone Grin

Oh and Velcro - when your house collapses prettily, make sure it's covered by your insurance, ok?

A job, being unemployed is frustrating :(

PeanutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 04/12/2011 11:34

The winning lottery ticket Xmas Grin

Failing that some boxset DVDs and some nice Yankee stuff

lljkk · 04/12/2011 11:40

A lie in. A proper lie in until nearly noon. Not had one in 12+ years!!

melliebobs · 04/12/2011 17:24

new iPod (mine broke 2 year ago and have to steal DH's that i bought for him after he got jealous that i had one and he didn't)
iPad
kinect for xbox

So not much really

PavlovtheCat · 04/12/2011 17:25

with lljkk. but add to that - unbroken sleep followed by a lie-in. followed by the children waking me up with breakfast and us all opening presents on the bed.

Now I know father xmas is not real...

Plonker · 04/12/2011 17:42

A camera. A top of the range digital camera that I could have a proper go at photography.

PurplePidjInAPearTree · 04/12/2011 18:30

Funny how a lot of these are actually quite acheivable in some respects, although it does depend on the ages of the children involved and the willingness of DH's and DP's to organise it...

Peace of mind.

cupofteaplease · 04/12/2011 18:38

I wish the doctors would ring and tell me they got it wrong and dd3 was no longer life limited. I love her to bits but can't bear to think of her leaving me. Xmas Sad

Alternatively, I'd love an iPad! That is about as possible as my previous wish. Xmas Grin

PurplePidjInAPearTree · 04/12/2011 18:44

cupofteaplease, try Family Fund - although you might have to prove it'll be beneficial for DD Wink

tassisssss · 04/12/2011 19:25

purple boots

SantieMaggie · 04/12/2011 19:27

less debt, a proposal and a baby

TheRealMBJ · 04/12/2011 20:21

  1. A new kitchen (ours is falling apart and was crap quality about 50 years ago when it was put in Sad)
  2. A new bathroom. We have no shower and our suite is diarrhoea orange
  3. New windows with double glazing as our wooden ones are rotted through.

Not gonna happen. So I've asked for some vouchers from M&S and GAP so I can get some new clothes

purplehonesty · 04/12/2011 20:44

A little baby on the screen at my 12 week scan. That's it!!
