christmas cake help please?

cake is all made and looks and smells lovely. been sitting wrapped up for about 4 weeks now. when do i need to marzipan and ice it please? x

it should be fine to marzipan now - then leave it a week or so longer before icing.

I used to make my cakes in September and brandy them every week until the week before Christmas then marzipan and ice them but that's just me it's the way my mum used to do it!

Marzipan a week before, icing two days before. Lots and lots and lots of booze in the mean time

You could do it now if you want, but I always do it close to the time I want to start eating it.
