Hello,

have bought my DD (almost 8) a Wii for Christmas. I have a few questions:

It comes with a nunchuck and a controller, Wii Sports and Sports Resort Also, have bought her Just Dance 3 separately.

What else (if anything) do I need? Essential wise - I haven't a clue!

My second question involves microphones. She loves to sing and has asked for a wireless mic and stand. My idea is that I can get her one to use with the Wii, rather than having to fork out for an amplifier (that I don't have a clue about). Have searched for wireless/cordless mic's on the net and it's all so confusing.

Does anybody have experience of the wireless mic's - if so, what do you recommend?

I'm getting stressed as this is way out of my league, have walked around a few shops and there are wireless mic's for Singstar (Xbox) but nothing for Wii that is made by Nintendo.

Thanks in advance!

Hiya, my ds has one, they are fab!! might i suggest that you get another controller so you can play side by side with her, it is brilliant (and quite easy at your DDs age, DS is 14 and woops me every time) also there are controller stands you can get that recharge the hand sets for you instead of the batteries going half way through the game, saves trauma. The other thing is whe DD is in bed, 2 controllers are always good for challenging other adults over a glass or 2 Wine as for the microphone, i would ask in a game shop, the game shop geeks know everything!! when you have all the info you need, take it straight to Amazon!!!!

Hope it helps

Is the controller a motion plus controller ?

For some games you need them.

RhondaRoo · 03/12/2011 22:16

oooo, Mrs don't know! My mum is taking DD for a night so I can set everything up and make sure it all works and I know how to set it up for the 'big day' (or, so I can have a go on the Michael Jackson dance game)

Thinking about it - I will need the motion plus, to go with MJ dance and Just Dance 3.

It's a minefield!!!!

Thanks Xmas Smile

Just asked dd and here is her answer:
Hi
As for anything else you need, another controller would be good. It should come with something called a sensor but if not it is needed..but I think it comes with the package.

Mics...I am sure you cannot buy a wireless one...my mics have a wire to be connected to the wii.
The main things are another controller and a sensor if not in the package.
Merry Christmas...HTH

You will definitely want a second controller but I'm sure you don't need to buy a sensor. It comes with the Wii console not with the controllers. You only need one sensor for all the controllers. Hope that makes sense.

One of the best (most cost effective) ways of buying a second controller is in a package that includes a game. We got 'Wii Party + controller' last Christmas and a year later it's still a firm favourite.

Crazy thank you to your dd - I actually asked DD about the mic and she stated (after weeks of me searching) "it doesn't have to work, I just want a toy" Confused I have been in every game shop on every internet shop - no you can not buy a wireless mic for a Wii!!! They are out there, but apparently they aren't very good! So I went to Toys R Us and bought a mic stand, wireless mic and my mum bought her a cheap Karaoke machine - just in case she does want it to work!

looby thank you, I will have another look and see what I can find.

So pleased I came here to ask, phew!

Don't forget to go with the second controller, you might want to pick up another nunchuck ?

I would also recommend as mentioned trying to get a game with the motion plus controller included, it can work out very pricey !

BarbieDahl · 04/12/2011 11:46

I would also advise 2nd controller+nunchuck and something to recharge them. We have a recharger stand that holds 2 controllers and they just sit in it when not in use.

RhondaRoo · 04/12/2011 22:43

Thank you, I will be following your advice I assure you - 2nd controller, another nunchuck and a charger.

Need to look for the motion-plus games, was in Toys R Us yesterday and forgot! Have now got a microphone though, although not suitable for the Wii, but will do for the budding diva I have living with me!

Thanks again Xmas Smile
