I'm just issuing a warning as I had a near miss...I bought a talking thing from ebay, it sat in the box for 2 weeks as I assumed it would be fine. but the 'try me' function doesn't actually work, and I've had to return it today and go and seek out another from a real shop where I could try it out.

I just thought - if people don't test their toys, they might end up with a disappointing moment on Christmas day, or trying to find a replacement the day before...so, test your toys now!

Oh and don't forget batteries...and if you are minded, to undo the twisty tags and so on before the big day as well.

And don't forget to check the presents are actually in the pile of presents. There is a rather sad thread from me last christmas eve re a missing zibit.....DH said yes, they've all arrived (had them delivered to his work) and he had accidentally thrown one away with the packaging.

I've got so many bags now of stuff that I've tried to hide throughout the house, and tbh I'm sure I'll have missed something out.

Trying to collate everything at the moment. It's hard when there's nowhere to hide a big bag or box!

And a message for the 265242 people that have bought Innotabs. They are battery powered so buy lots of batteries or buy a charger for it. It doesn't come with a charger which surprised me.

Ooh, my dad did that years ago, threw away all the kids' Advent calendars with the carrier bags.

I had a terribly boring self-conscious time testing DS2's metal detector the other day.

Those with actual electronics consoles etc also check, last year we got in car dvd players. No less than NINE broke down on us before I had a huge tantrum at toysrus and demanded my cash back imeadiatly so I could go elsewhere I wasn end of january before we had fully functioning ones!
