DS lite or DSi or something else

Sorry, this has probably been done to death but what would you recommend - a DS lite or DSi or something else?

She had a leapster which was handed down and has finally given up working so I'm looking for something to replace it. I wasn't planning to let DD have a DS until a little older but now dithering over the decision. DD is just 6. what would you recommend?

DSi is far better. They can take and distort pictures, record and distort sounds so the DSi without a game will keep them occupied for a while. It also has a built in internet browser and more functions then a DS lite.

DS who is 7 years old has asked for DS XL - apparently it has a wider screen. I am clueless though!

My DS is just 6 too and I have got him a second hand DS lite from GAME. I want to see how he looks after it first.

But tbh I don't think he would be that fussed by having a camera.

Just bought DS (who has old DS) a 3DS as his DS is the only "toy" he's ever had lasting interest in. (he's 7) It totally drives me mad but he loves it. Just to let you know Sainsburys have a deal on where they're cheaper than every where I've looked £119 (I think it was)

thanks for the feedback. Still not sure. Are the games you buy the same for both or can you download games on the DSi and are they cheaper?

Think the games can be played on all of them if they are an older model iyswim.

Don't think a 3d game would work on a normal DS though.

I have bought my games 2nd hand on amazon.

I bought my 6 yr old DS a dsi last year and he loves it. The games are good but what he really likes doing is messing around with the camera, recording sounds and making animations. i definitly found it a good buy!
