What are you getting for your (impossible to buy for) dh this year?

Usually I have something up my sleeve for dh but this year I am stumped. He doesn't like novelty stuff, he likes sport, books (already got him some of those) - has an iPod and kindle, doesn't need a watch and doesn't wear jewellery thank goodness. Any random ideas out there?

I've bought DH Gold Rush by Michael Johnson, which is his book about what makes an Olympic champion. Also Netherland, which is a fiction book about cricket, recommended on here.

Can't link from my iPod but a quick search on amazon will find them.

I've bought DP a book on how to make beers, wines etc. from foraged foods called "booze for free" and a coffee grinder

My DH is getting a Tshirt and a book from the Beatles Shop. He is a massive fan and I am not so will really like them. We don't buy each other every year, but this year I found these and know he'll appreciate them, and managed to squirrell them away.

a subscription to private eye, a crate of local beer and a locally produced pork pie. He'll be as happy as a happy thing.

DH has asked for this . He is very sporty too and detests novelty items so am presuming it is a proper bit of kit. I did, however, tell him that I could pocket the dosh instead and would happily spend all day telling him how lazy he has been :o

Dp and I are just getting each other stockings this year. I'm going to put him a little bottle of something to enjoy on Christmas as there's no point in buying a big bottle (I'm pregnant), some chocolates and a hideously PFB baby t shirt with some sickening slogan about his daddy on Grin. His birthday is 2 days before Christmas so I'll get him a proper present then.

Heston at Home cookbook, Lego VW camper van and tickets for a play next year.

So far I've got DH a Whiskey tasting kit from here, A Batman Graphic Novel, some Xbox games he asked for and some stocking bits and pieces. He's asked for clothes so I'm probably going to get hm a few Tshirts or shirts as well.

Mrsrobertduvall · 26/11/2011 19:49

I've bought mine personal training sessions and new headphones.

DH asked for a Kindle , he charged it up to check it, then gave his tablet to DD (DD is 9 yo and hasn't got a PC)

husband is now using his Kindle. He won't get another present, I can tell you

PartialToACupOfMilo · 26/11/2011 22:15

Have bought a hideously expensive knife (which he asked for), a case for his phone and a book. Am reeling from the price of the knife, but given there's another month before Christmas, he might have a few other bits and pieces in his stocking.

Guerlain's Habit Rouge

He's mentioned how hard it is to buy a few times, and he's running low on his bottle. So I walked into House of Fraser and bought him a bottle Hmm

and i'm looking forward to spending the £15 gift voucher I got for spending mroe than £40

ppeatfruit · 27/11/2011 11:50

Last year I gave DH a couple of his late parents' wedding photos nicely framed (he cried AAAH)!to hang on the wall. Also one of DS's special paintings (it's nice 'cos you can give them for birthdays too).
