What decorations is everyone having?

Think I will be putting up the decorations next weekend. There will be a 7 ft fake tree in the living room, a candle arch in the window and a couple of dd's snowflakes she made. A home made elf and angel hanging decoration and some red and gold streamers from the ceiling....and that's about it. Looking forward to doing the tree as I've treated myself to some posh baubles which should go beautifully with the rest of the supermarket/Wilko tat.
What is everyone else doing?

Our house is not tiny, but not generous either. It doesn't leave much room for decorations. We will make room for our 6ft tree in the dining room and hang the pretty christmas cards we get as decorations on festive ribbon from the picture rails. Between the cards my 2 kids get and the ones I get from my classes, we get plenty.
My kids and my OH will have the same 'can we have the tacky reindeer lights in the window?' argument they have every year. He's won for the last 2 years so I think it is their turn. Compared to many of the houses around here, our single set of lights in the window is tasteful and understated.

I've bought nice cosy rugs for the sofas with stars on to have to snuggle with and we have a great wreath made of Quality street-coloures bells to hang on the door.

I cover the ceiling with bright paper and foil garlands, hanging stars and twisty streamers. I have a string of paper 'faux Victorian' tacky santas on a string that go along the wall (if I can be bothered to put them up). Fairy lights in the window usually. Tinsel left over from the Liberace- style tree goes on whatever I can get it on, probably picture frames, mantel etc. We do not go for tasteful here, we go for "lets give the kids something to remember Christmases by!" :)

I have a real christmas tree with all the stocking teddy bears, new bridge silver and my Nana's 80 year old glass baubles with coloured lights, ginger bread house and candles in the window. But this year my Dad is living with us and has bought the makings of paper chains and other home made kiddies crap so I will wait and see what appears, I need to break the bulb my Mum got for the out side light, can you guess what colour it is Shock seasonal colours do not work every where Grin
