The reason for the threads appearing earlier than December 1st:

Well, you see, not everyone is rich enough to go and buy all their gifts on a snowy Xmas Eve in Harrods with a personal shopper dressed in gold leaf pants.

Some of us have to think about presents early because if we didn't spread out the buying over a couple of months, there would be no money left to buy Christmas dinner with.

Fair enough, Maryz. I have to leave buying chocolate-related gifts until later on because I have been known to accidentally eat it

And yes, mostly the threads should be in the Christmas section, but some of them DO go in other topics, eg 'find me a christmas party dress' etc is an S&B thread, and '...not to want my mad bitch MIL to come to us for Christmas' is obviously AIBU. There's bound to be some crossover.

I do believe it's a MN Christmas tradition for you to start a moany thread about this. And we all know how much you luuuuurve Xmas traditions and the 101 threads about them.

Mind saying that Christmas is not going to be happening in my house ( bar advent calendars ) till we move on the 19th December . I love the build up to Christmas and the day it's self so I'm normally up early but by the 27th my tree is down as that's it Christmas is over
