Inspired by the advocaat thread and mass of xmas drinks on pinterest... I am now overwhelmed by the choice of tipples for the xmas season so what will you be drinking? And what should I drink?

Champagne (ok, prosecco) cocktails with pama liqueur instead of brandy
Mmmm

GeorgeEliot · 23/11/2011 20:24

Vintage champagne.

mrsmplus3 · 23/11/2011 20:37

will open a bottle or 2 of good cava for guests arriving
red and white wine on offer with meal
baileys on ice with fresh coffee after desert
and that will probably be it til boxing day.
i always like a few during the day on boxing day for some reason - think its cause its the most relaxing day of the year for me, after all the preparation and excitement on christmas eve/day.

My home made sloe gin, champagne and I was thinking of buying a bottle of Aldi's mock Baileys (Irish Cream). At £5.99 a bottle its got to be worth a try hasn't it? would you......

peanutmakinalistncheckinitwice · 24/11/2011 08:48

MonsterBookOfTysons · 24/11/2011 11:38

Baileys
It is gorgeous on ice cream too may incorporate it into my cooking Wink

ChooChooWowWow · 24/11/2011 11:52

Baileys and Kir Royale here.

In his younger days dh was an amazing cocktail bartender (think Tom Cruise in cocktail Grin). One of our Christmas day adult puddings is a Frozen Black Irish served in a chocolate cup

Frozen Black Irish
Baileys
Vodka
Kahlua
blended with Vanilla ice-cream and ice

girlywhirly · 24/11/2011 12:24

Fino sherry before lunch
Wine with lunch, madeira in the gravy.
Winter Pimms later, served hot.

SantieMaggie · 24/11/2011 13:30

I've tried the Aldi Irish Cream and its nice- will be what I'm buying instead of baileys...

OMG that frozen black irish sounds nice... could I make it with tia maria? (I have a bottle in the cupboard given to me by MIL when she moved house and never know what to do with it!)

I also like the sound of the espresso martini!

So far on my shopping list is:
Irish cream
Vodka
Amaretto
Creme de cassis

I already have a bottle of advocaat.

BTW DP will probably be drinking lager so this is for me.... Blush oh I just remembered lagaritas....

Advocaat is made from eggs, right? So it must have protein in, yes?

Over the festive period I will be mainly drinking ...... Prosecco, Mulled Wine, Vodka & diet coke, spiced rum with ice, Baileys, Amaretto with ice, Amaretto with warm milk (for bedtimes), Pear cider, a few cocktails, a few naughty coffees .... and for the retro Crimbo feel maybe a babycham and a snowball or two Grin

Sounds like it will be a very Merry Christmas in the Taffy house!

Taffeta · 25/11/2011 10:34

Prosecco, mulled cider and sea breeze with the odd g and t

dinkystinky · 25/11/2011 10:36
