How shall I wrap dd's present?

Dd's Christmas present from her father and me is that I am taking her to see Swan Lake a couple of days after Christmas. She will be so thrilled - she is dying to see it, but it was sold out. She doesn't know there is an extra performance that I managed to get two stonkin seats for.

I can't decide how to give her the tickets. She can't read so won't get it from just the tickets.

I did think I might get her a new frock and some accessories (long gloves?!) to wear to it, and maybe parcel it up with that? And a scroll with pictures on it? Umm... not sure. It's at a very smart theatre where people wear floor length gowns and gloves so we can really dress up for it! I think she'd think it was fun if I had a new frock too.

Any ideas on how to make it perfect? How would you do it?

New outfit a really good idea - can you print off some pictures from the website to put in with the tickets?

What a lovely idea, by the way. Smile

That's so nice and I really do like the idea of putting it in with a pretty dress. Also, could you get a swan lake book and hide the tickets inside for her? She'll get a little surprise when she opens the book :)

How about making a game of it? Maybe wrap a big piece of card/paper with a picture of a swan, a lake, a ballerina and some tickets (could print off the computer if you're not arty) and see if she can work it out?

How lovely! How about getting a little evening bag or clutch bag to go with the pretty dress (not sure how old your dd is but you can get really pretty little girly things like that in Monsoon etc) and tucking the tickets inside it? It sounds like a wonderful treat and something she'll always remember!

We have a DVD of the Bolshoi dancing Swan Lake - maybe a copy of that (or similar) with a note hidden inside?

Thank you - some great ideas :)

I am still thinking...

I'm guessing she's quite young. How about putting the tickets (or a home made version with pictures on) inside something swanny? Remember keypers? They open with the key to hide treasures.

Or do a treasure hunt with clues - ballerina in a music box, soft toy swan (RSPB do them), a DVD or CD - that kind of thing.

Oh, that's the baby here is a swan. I wouldn't get that one though, it doesn't appear to come with a key.
