Cooking a Boxing Day Ham??

I've never done it before but am determined to do it this year!

I've heard that the "Nigella Bottle of coke" one is good but i don't have the right book. Would you agree that that is a good one to do or do you have an alternative one you'd like to share?? Grin

TIA

I am cooking Ham in Cherry coke on Boxing Day, at DD's request. She loves it. Infact doing two, both in cherry coke and with the cherry glaze, as have about 10 or so coming. Serving it with jacket potatoes and salad, etc.

I don't soak the ham. I put it in a pan with cold water and bring it to the boil. Then I drain the water away. It;s what Nigella suggests.

In the past I have served it with creamed spinacj and red cabbage that has been cooked in the ham liquor.

I also have only done boneless joints.

THanks so much for your replies partic Hulababy!
I've bought a bonless smoked gammon weighing in at over 2kg!!!
Will boil first and then cook according to Nigella and keeping my fingers very firmly crossed that all works out well - my DH is getting rather excited.

Thanks Xmas Smile
