Struggling with DH

What do I buy him this Christmas?

He loves books, but is hoping to get the Kindle Fire when it is out, so no point in getting books and a voucher for kindle books seems a bit boring.

He loved CDs but downloads everything now.

He loves coffee - but limited space in kitchen for decent coffee maker.

Loves Formula 1, but can't think of anything reasonable priced there - I guess I need to google price of tickets.

He loves gadgets, but seems to have everything ...

Any ideas gratefully received!

I have one of those DH too.

So far he has a lego head storage container, cartoon hankies from Next, a new bottle of JPG for men (but thats really for me Wink.

We saved £2 coins for over two years to buy an I-pad, i have the kindle, he loves his android phone, isnt sporty at all.

Really stuck!

Do you have a cafetiere? My dh loves coffee and after advice on here i was told to get one as machines boil the coffee and impair the flavour. Mines getting a large cafetiere, grinder thing for the beans, posh beans and a travel mug for the days he's in a rush.

pink

Just a thought with regard to F1.

Have you tried ebay ? They have lots of F1 related things on there, you can get caps, t-shirts etc of all the relevant teams, there are some sellers who specialize in selling signed items, or memorabilia. You might stumble across something ? Smile

MangoBrain · 16/11/2011 12:38

You could get him an F1 driving experience Grin

Wolfiefan · 16/11/2011 12:40

Gadget show website. Would he like to go to their show? Actual coffee? Decent mug to take said coffee to work? My DH also wants the kindle but says no sign of it being released in UK yet and very £££. music in car? MyDH has iPod plumbed in! See a band/singer he likes? Hey if you picked music you both liked you could go as well. Ohh hotel!

RainySmallHands · 16/11/2011 12:40

coffee syrups and an insulated travel mug were my first thoughts.

Chocolate covered coffee beans? A nice coffee pot? Really working the coffee theme as you can see Grin

If he really really loves GP you could get him a general admission ticket for the practice on Friday which is a lot cheaper than for the Sunday - they are about £60.

sweetheart · 16/11/2011 12:45

I brought dh one of these coffee machines last year and he loved it - still uses it every day. If you shop around you can get them cheaper - I think I paid about £70 last year. They also do a smaller machine which is cheaper too.

Squigglywiggly · 16/11/2011 12:47

How about a stove top coffee maker. They produce coffee as good as coffee shops and a small one won't take too much space.

I bought one for my then boyfriend a few years back. He loved and has led to my now dh now having a grinder and huge machine Wink

mrstiredandconfused · 16/11/2011 12:48

Dh and I are massive f1 fans- I got him a single seater driving experience on silverstone's stowe circuit for about £30 (special offer). They also do tours of the track etc- it might be worth looking on their website?

Conundrumish · 16/11/2011 12:58

Wow, so many suggestions - thanks so much Grin.

If a F1 experience is too costly, how about a go in one of those drving simulators? Apparently they are really good. I know of one in Southampton if that is any good to you?

Tabbykat · 16/11/2011 13:06

sodastream? just got this for DH as he is hard to buy for but always moans our tonic is always flat..

sweetheart · 16/11/2011 13:11

sodastream ! THANKS!!!!!! Added to my dh's list!

Thumbwitch · 16/11/2011 13:12

Do you know about www.iwantoneofthose.com/? It's full of all sorts of gifts, wacky ones, interesting ones, useful ones, things you didn't even know you wanted - I love it!

You might find something on there.

I, otoh, have no luck whatsoever in knowing what to get DH and when I mentioned it today, he said "I don't care about getting presents anyway" so I was tempted to get him nothing until I saw an inflatable boogie (body) board that I know he would like - so that's his present for this year.

glastochick · 16/11/2011 13:13

I am stuck too. DH loves motorbikes. Has a ridiculous collection in the garage in various states of repair. Was thinking of getting him a bike lift to make tinkering easier, but they're silly prices. Have seen on ebay that you can buy plans for £10, but no idea where to get the component parts, and then I'd see even less of him while he built it!

Got him a kindle for his birthday which he thought was great but has never used Hmm.

He needs new shirts for work but I reckon my Mum will get those.

Totally stuck Sad
