Every year myself and DH set a budget for buying for each other, otherwise things get silly.

I try to get around this and spoil him by sourcing nice things he would like or needs for less money. M & M direct is a great one for that.

Anyhoo... this year he wants new boots. He likes a certain pair of boots owned by someone we know... which are these!

In fairness, he isn't the first (or the second) adult to want a pair of shoes exactly like DS's... he is a fashion icon at 2 and 9 months... I wonder who his stylist is....

So anyway, I have looked around and ended up right where I started, lol, and have 2 very nice, good quality and v reasonable pairs of boots to choose from.

So... do I buy
the ones with the zips

or the ones with the stretchy bit?

I think the zip ones are nicer Smile

Thanks, me too actually.
Apparently no one else has an opinion... :)

Zips pair is nicer IMO.

olibeansmummy · 15/11/2011 17:39

Zips I don't like stretchy bits

insanityscratching · 15/11/2011 18:32

Zips here too.

Nat38 · 15/11/2011 19:42

defo the zips!! but stretchy ones are nice too!!

sunnyday123 · 15/11/2011 20:30

zips too!

pictish · 15/11/2011 20:44

oooh these are very like your son's - particularly the shape!

Not spending £147, lol. Besides they don't deliver here. The others are ok, but too tan in colour. Would want a darker brown.

Ah ok. I did think the other boots I linked to very pricey too!

thisisyesterday · 15/11/2011 21:17

i agree with pictish, the ones you linked to are nice, but they'r enot particularly like your sons

thisisyesterday · 15/11/2011 21:20

what about these?

thisisyesterday · 15/11/2011 21:28

nice but slightly over budget.

actually debenhams have some lovely ones, and lots with money off

pigleychez · 15/11/2011 21:38

these?

LolaLadybird · 15/11/2011 21:49

I really like the ones with the zips but I agree that they're not really the same thing as your DS' boots. I guess it depends what your DH will be wearing them with and what for - some of the chunkier ones that have been linked to would look good with jeans whereas the zip ones would go with jeans and smarter stuff, but probably not as hard-wearing.

Not sure that helps you any ...Smile

Oooooh v much like the skechers, not too fussed on the others, but thanks peeps.

However, have since purchased said boots with zips.

Have just asked DH if he wants boots exactly like DS has or if he would like something less work-boot like. He said he wants brown boots, no laces, but that he could wear out somewhere, so I think i've made an ok choice. If they arrive and I'm not dying about them, I'll maybe order the skechers.

thanks folks!

If he wants to be able to wear them out somewhere, I'd say the zip ones will be just the job.
