We love the logo game in our household. Bought it for last Christmas and have played it loads since!

Not quite a board game, but our family loves UNO extreme. Dd (4yrs) can play with a bit of help Dd1 (8) can play all by herself and it's good fun for adults too :-)

Depends if there are young children. For adults I love Settlers of Catan and Ticket to Ride. Dixit and Tsuro are good and kids can join in as they're not too complex. Sagaland is aimed at kids but fun for adults too.

We play a lot of board games. If you want to be able to play at home when you don't have a lot of people then Hive and Khet are both good for 2 players.

Another idea would be to get a pack of cards and a book of card games. Sevens is a good kids game and contract whist is good for adults.
