I've got all the kids pressies sorted but am struggling for stocking ideas for my son. So far I can only think of chocolate coins and a satsuma! Any ideas?

2 is a difficult age for stocking fillers isn't it cos so much not suitable for under 3s. Character socks (often available in £1 shop); a little book/comic; bubble bath; novelty toothbrush/toothpaste. A long time since my DS was 2, struggling to remember any more! Will post again if I think of anything.

Bath toys, bath crayons, you could get the Happyland santa set wrap them up individually and they would fit in there, a set of bells. other small instruments.

How about some crafty things, they prefer this at that age anyway even if its not very christmassy. You could make up your own make your own shaker kit with things wrapped up individually and include christmassy things to decorate it with, star stickers, some dried peas and things to go in etc. He would probably be quite happy making/playing with that whilst your older DC open their pressies.

Something else Ive thought of for my DD, how about a little photo book with pictures of the last year, pics of family, friends, pets, parties etc. Wilkinson do inexpensive little photo books under 2 quid.

The tiny board book sets you get in supermarkets, with different characters (these are usually dire) or just a theme like "farm animals" with one word and a picture on each page.

My Little Pocket Library, that's what they are called. DS loves them because he can "read" them by looking at the pictures.

Bubbles!

Wind up novelty toys. Matchbox cars. I know these aren't technically suitable for under 3s but DS was fine with them at that age.

Bath squirters.

Pyjamas? They don't care if it's clothes, they just like unwrappng things.

Think most people have said what I'd put in but id second matchbox etc cars. Ds has been 'collecting' these since he could ask for a car everytime we go to the supermarket lol. Ooh also how about a small football and small soft toy?

Have only scanned suggestions so far but i bought my DS when he was 2 1/2 one Xmas a torch and it turned out to be the best present ever!!
also inc a blow up flannel (the ones in Tesco that expand on impact with water), Choc reindeer, Character cup, packs of stickers, and lots of other things already mentioned.

I've just foud bath paint and coloured bath foam at morrisons £1.99 each. Worryingly it says don't get on tile grout but have dived in anyway.

Have been shopping for my 2 yr old boy stocking today funnily enough - so far have hat and gloves, ducks for the bath, bubbles, crayons and scribble pad, 2 piece jigsaw puzzles, pack of balloons (which I will blow up and put in a box - he LOVES balloons!!), pack apple rice cakes, wash mitt, xmas day outfit, pack of dinosaurs and a football. I am planning on painting a carboard box to look like a fire engine and putting his fillers in that rather than a stocking, so he has something else to play with - he loves cardboard boxes!!

My son has just turnes two. He loves little cars especially the Pixar ones so i have got him a small Lightening Mcqueen one, a pack of Toy Story stickers. A couple of cheap Thomas books, a pack of jumbo crayons with a small colouring book, a Thomas train off ebay as you can get one for a few quid. a sant little soft toy and some chocolate coins.
Thats just for his stocking. I may have gone overfboard this year. Grin.

VajazzleMyFoof · 13/11/2011 21:56

oops turned and overboard.

VajazzleMyFoof · 13/11/2011 21:59

Santa. Excuse my spelling. I think its nearly bed time. I have also got him a bath toy from Asda which you wind up and it swims in the water. Its a little frog and a Fireman Sam small figure.

Tiggles · 13/11/2011 22:40

They were probably age 3 + but DS got loads of dinosaurs in his stocking when he was 2 last year. They are still well played with now. Confession time - there were about 30 of them, second hand off ebay for a fiver!
