Help, need really good present for 8 yr old boy

I have two girls both younger so not much experience with boys! I need a great present for my next door neighbour's ds, budget is about £20 but could stretch to £25 as we forgot his birthday (oops). He is quite sporty and likes army stuff. Any ideas gratefully received.

nerf guns! or lego, the lego hero range is popular at the moment my middle two who are 9 and almost 7 both love those :)and there is a range of army toys if he likes that type of stuff, its expensive tho.

Laser stunt chasers are brill.
