We are entering into the world of Sylvanian families this year with both the farm house and the windmill, however I have no idea on which furniture sets are best for these buildings!

They're not cheap so don't want to go overboard, but on the other hand I'd like enough furniture to make them look good. All ideas gratefully received!

I ordered from Debenhams and saved a lot(checked online before I ordered).A couple of things are higher before the discount but a lot aren't. You have to sift through and keep googling.

Did you have a discount code MrsHeffley?

I speak as a citizen of sylvania. Wish it weren't true but our spare room is now given over to this species. I don't think it makes much diffenrence what is acquired: the penguin family are cohabiting with the rabibits, whilst the newly immigrant hedgehog family have been housed on a zip-cord ( string) between beechwood manor and some Tudor cottage. I just wait for the retail dump in tkmaxx and buy whatever is cheap. Ps, in between rolling my eyes, I must say they are the one toy that have stood the test of time, we've had about 7 years out of them and counting.

I second making stuff!
My mum madea house for my sister's sylvanians out of tongue and groove wood.
it was fab.

also, save up sucker sticks (frozen lollipop sticks), because we used to make loads of furniture and stuff with those!

Matchboxes make good drawers, so you can make divan beds, chest of drawers, sideboards etc (all our designs came from the old ladybird books toys to make )

also, wallpaper and carpets for the house - go to the local decorating shop, and carpet shop and ask for their old samples. they usually give out the wallpaper books for nothing, but you have to pay about 30p each for the carpets.
