Easy Christmas Decoration/mobile ideas for my 8 yr old DS to make ?

My DS has got to make a Christmas decoration / mobile for a competition at school. I'm not at all into Arts & Crafts so was wondering if anyone has any simple ideas of what we can make ?

The decorations are going to be hung in the school hall - so they need to be quite big so they stand out !

The only thing I can think of is a paper mache snowman head !

A paperchain in the school colours that goes round the entire hall. It requires no skill whatsoever but would love v. impressive.

For added creep points your DS could ask for a list of the first names of all the children in the school and write a name on each link so it ends up as a 'Christmas friendship chain' :o

Or these are easy, you could make them bigger (using plastic sheets) or jazz them up with glitter etc.

There's a thread somewhere in this section about Christmas wreaths. Very simple, but effective. And could potentially be quite big!
