Pattern for a giant stocking!

When I was little my grandmother made us all huge stockings and I'd love to make one for DS. Does anyone know of a good free pattern on the web?

I could manage the basic stocking shape and stitching but I'd like some fun appliqué or similar and there my artistic abilities fail because I have no spatial awareness

If all else fails, Poundstretcher were selling some really enormous stockings last week, and they were nice, all in festive designs.
