Want best suggestions for a 12 month old DS

My DS is 1 on Christmas Eve so technically it's his 2nd Christmas but I'm trying to buy sensibly for him. We don't have a big house so really I want to buy just a few presents that will last him a bit. I was wondering if people could share what were big hits for their wee ones at this age. Many thanks

Ds and dd both loved their wee ride on car at this age and also their buggy and baby. Oh and a little people bus.

Ride on toy (there's lots of different types, but my DS always preferred the small plastic ones that we never actually bought him)
Pop up tent and tunnel (can be stored away when not in use)
bath toys
Musical instruments
Auquadoodle
Garage (both elc and little people do them from age 12 months plus)

You could also look at things like ELC Happyland, or a starter train set (Brio do ones from about 18 month plus or you can get Thomas ones aimed at younger children) which he might be a bit young for now, but would grow into as he approaches 18 months. Also books that he might be a bit young for now but would get into over the next year - anything by the likes of Julia Donaldson or Oliver Jeffries. Have you got a garden? If so, maybe something for outdoors?

I've bought the Labrador baby walker from John Lewis for DS, who will be 9 months. We don't have much room either but I love it so we'll make room.

Our 12 month old is getting a scuttlebug, some megabloks, and one of those musical mats. You step on them and they make a noise.

Also clothes and a shape sorter.

Dd2 is 1 just after christmas. I've got her a trike (with parent handle) mega blocks table, a few mickey mouse toys and some books. Dp got her a talking shopping trolley that I think she'll love.

I'm also getting her a doll and pram as she loves dd1s dolls.

I've also done her a stocking with pj's and a few little bath toys in.
