Ok, so in this household we have a christmas dinner type deal on Christmas eve, then on christmas day, we have a buffet type thing during the day and some curry or what not, now..I would like to have a Christmas Breakfast tradition for me DH and DS, who will be 3 in Dec.

What do you all have for christmas breakfast?! Confused

I start inhaling tea as soon as possible after the dcs get us up.

Then when they get hungry we have pain au chocolat.

And then chocolate.

But I might introduce bacon butties this year too (no house guests, hooray!).

Pastries, toast, fruit, coffee - nothing too heavy as we have 'nibbles' ie huge amounts of olives, crisps etc with presents at noon, then Xmas dinner at 4ish.

thereistheball · 02/11/2011 20:07

Bacon and eggs, or maybe sandwiches this year.

Smoked salmon is for just after we have opened the presents, ie 12ish.

Then Christmas dinner around 4ish, with a pause before pudding.

If anyone is hungry come 10-11 there is usually some ham, cheese and fruit, maybe with a slice of cake.

A selection of pastries, croissants, pain au raisin, cinnamon danish, ect all washed down with Bucks Fizz.

Angelsus · 02/11/2011 20:10

We have pancakes, bacon and maple syrup - yum! All cooked up by my DM so even better!

Dippy eggs with soldiers, my Mum did it, I now do it. Smile

Nibbles and fizz from 12. Lunch around 4pm.

CherryRocketMonster · 02/11/2011 20:54

we usually have scrambled duck eggs on posh toast, croissants, pain au chocolat and champagne (bucks fizz for the kids) this year dsis wants to have waffles. (yum)

girlywhirly · 03/11/2011 08:31

Last year we had brioche with Bonne Maman jam and coffee. I think we'll do the same this year as it's just the two of us, and Christmas lunch is at 1.30p.m.

Letchlady · 03/11/2011 10:00

We do the pastries and buck fizz.

Brioche / Pain au chocolate / croissants / pancakes with syrup.

PastGrace · 03/11/2011 10:20

Tea and chocolate as a family in bed, then fruit and waffles and champagne and coffee and juice, then clear up and do some lunch prep, then showers and get dressed then back downstairs for more champagne/coffee/chocolate and presents by the fire.

A family friend's parents always cook turkey with strips of bacon over the top (like this) but instead of leaving the bacon on for ages they lift it off and then have that in their bacon sandwiches so it's a sort of special Christmas bacon sandwich. I've never tried it, but I think it sounds great!

needshelpwitheveryday · 03/11/2011 14:52

we normally have eggs Benedict although the ham always gets replaced with Bacon YUMMMMM

ENormaSnob · 03/11/2011 15:28

Croissants and bucks fizz.

Bacon and egg sarnies for dh.

Kids have either plus fruit juice or a smoothy.
