Just found out we're all going to in laws for Christmas (yaySmile)
MIL is very organised and will have food sorted. We will take chocs and alcohol....etc.
So thought it might be nice to do stockings for the grown ups.
So far have got bath bombs, hand cream, car ice scrapersGrin oh and some chocolates. What else can I bung in? Will do mini alcohol too. Just want to treat them all cos they're really really nice. It will be for parents in law who are in their 70s and sis in law and her partner, both in their 40s.
Thanks for your help Smile

There are some great websites out there that do little trinkets.

Iwantoneofthose.com
Cox & Cox
Lakeland (bizarre I know but they do great little gift ideas!)
Graham & Green

Candles?
Chocolates/Macaroons/Toffee?

Lots of my favourite things come in small packages, in particular make-up, nail things, pretty hair things, nice moisturisers, bath oils (Olverum is the best) and perfumes. Otherwise i'd like a paperback, and sets of cards/envelopes (include a set of 1st class stamps) for thank you notes - good prompt for the kids too, if they are old enough to write. Also an interesting hot drink (Twinings Rose tea or posh coffee or hot chocolate for instance), maybe with a nice mug, truffles, a pair of fluffy socks for shuffling about the house, some nice knickers... actually if you added some wine that would be my ideal evening wrapped up in a stocking.

A lottery lucky dip or scratchcard?

It could be you.

startail · 02/11/2011 19:44

I'd never object to twinnings tea or green and blacks coco powderGrin
DH's sister always throws either a bottle of chilli sauce or a chilli grinder in his stocking always much appreciated as are bottles of wheat beer that no one else likes.
I don't like chilli, but posh salad dressing would be nice. As would posh lavender bubble bath and a sentedncandle to light while I soak. Oh and I like pistachio or cashew nuts. If you want something slightly silly a packet of Biros actually work and pencils with points would be good!

startail · 02/11/2011 19:46

Yes my mum used to out loto scratch cards. DSis got £25 on hers nothing on mineEnvy, but good fun since we don't normally do that sort of thing.

Also for PILs I'd include some nice lip balm, maybe some fingerless gloves or an audiobook on CD, and posh (Christmassy) marmalade or jam.

do you have a bodycare or similar cheap toiletries shop nearby? I bought DH a set of minature shower gel, shampoo, deodorant and something else, all packaged in a wash bag for £3.99 last week which will be perfect for his stocking. They had various different brands so I got one for DS and DD too!

posey · 02/11/2011 20:44

Thank you all again Smile
Getting rather excited about putting these together!

What about a clip on reading light? You can get them for a little as £1.90 on amazon or there are the ones you can also get in Waterstones for about £6.
