Wizardsofwaverleyplace · 29/10/2011 21:50

For my work's secret santa, have to spend £5 on a gift that could be suitable for anyone in the department.

Jokey/rude all acceptable.

Anyone had good secret santa gifts they could recommend please?

No mine have generally been crap but this year its likely a lot of us are being made redundant and we alwasy open together on last day before xmas and this year i am going to get mine a mooncup even though it will be over budget - i just think it will be funny and effective and i will of course not be suspected and will feign shock with the rest.

Gifts I have had in my work life Secret Santas:
A. A four pack of lager wrapped up
B. A lottery ticket with 5 lucky dip numbers
C. A nice picture frame
D. A coffee mug filled with chocolate coins
E. A muji desk organiser

They were all quite cool.

If you wanted to be jokey you could always photocpoy your fanjo and put it in the picture frame?

we normally pull a name out of a hat so that we can "personalise it", have bought quite a few things over the years. did a "take out" for one colleague - bottle of cobra beer, curry pot noodle and a packet of mini nan bread - he loved it !

I usualy try and hunt out sale stuff, so the £5 goes a bit further, have bought nice scarves, bracelets, smellies for the girls too.

It's quite hard if you don't know who it;s for, think I would go up the road of funny calanders/pen sets/food related stuff - mugs are always quite well received.

Good luck !

someone i know went to loads of makeup counters and got tons of free samples which they gift wrapped in a nice box with box of chocs!

m&s do scarves for £5 all different colours
personally i'd prefer a bottle of wine!

I've done mini pamper packs in the past - Poundland for a book, smellies, chocolate, makeup kit etc. All tied up with a ribbon.

Or a mug filled with goodies.

This year there are some beautiful scarves and snoods out, so I have bought one of each for my 2 secret santa recipients in their favourite colours.

*the scarves and snoods are of course not from Poundland. They are from primark or asda!
