I make my dh a stocking for Xmas. We're broke this year - other than socks and chocolate what cheap but nice stuff could I put in?

Christmas edition of magazine (eg New Scientist, Economist, etc)

Gloves (always need them, usually about £3 from sainsbury/asda etc)

That's weeks current affairs mag a good idea, or a news round up one from the year. Will give him something to read on Christmas day!

YY to scarf/gloves, my DH wouldn't think to buy these himself.

Boring but essential- new boxers/trunks (nice ones not novelty)

i usually go for essentials i would have to buy otherwise so shaving foam, hair jel, deodrant, pack of pens, socks, underware then a packet of nuts his fav sweets and its pretty much full!
