Lots of nice cheap things at Ikea. How about this mobile, these stacking cups, this cloth book or these blocks?

Those ikea blocks recommended by attheendoftheday are great! I got some ages ago (same thing slightly diff design!) for DSs nursery before he was even born! He's 18m old now and loves to get them down and play with them! They're still in perfect nick too so well worth a fiver!

Thanks all! I love the IKEA bits but that involves going to IKEA...something I reserve purely for days when I need stress :o

Gift is really for his sisters benefit who will want to know why he doesn't get a gift :o

Parents have a bottle of scotch :o

chaos :o if the actually did plush Starbucks cup toys, then any child I know would get one :o that picture is cute though!!!

Maybe the eggs are the way to go !!

if he has an older sister, likely that there are lots of toys in the house anyway? What about a t-shirt or something in a bigger size, say 9-12 months, as presumably they've not been able to pass on (m)any of his sister's clothes?
