There are quite a lot of good toy offers around at the moment. Do you think it's worth buying now, or do you think there will be similar ones all the way to Christmas?

I've bought some half price Peppa bloody Pig stuff from Tesco in their sale.

I work on the basis, if you can, buy it when you see it otherwise you'll miss out.

It' the 'can' that's imprtant there, isn't it? I really should wait until next month, but will I then be paying a lot more? I guess that's what they bank on.

Last year I couldn't buy early and there didn't seem to be nearly as many offers later on. Always best to spread the cost.

If you know you can afford it next month, I would put it on credit card and pay it off next month. If you can't be sure you could do that then I would wait until you def have the money.

I hope you realise I do not necessarily practise what I preach Smile

Argos had 25% off Sylvanian Family (not sure if all or selected).Got one of the houses for DD.

Buy them now. The last thing you want to be doing is trawling round the shops, queuing, carrying massive boxes.
Especially is you/your DC are unwell, or if we get the promised snow.

I love the idea of Christmas shopping, but when I go out to buy loads ( like when I was getting the DCs back to school shoes/trainers/bags all the things I wouldn't buy online) I remind myself what a pain in the tonsils it is.

Only thing I wouldn't buy is something they might change their mind about .

Lordoftheflies- i did the same with the sylvanians last week, i wasn't sure if i should buy now or later but in the end i bought the farm house and was pleased with the price i got it at. Also bough some smaller bits a few weeks ago when all toys were 3 for 2.

Also got dd2 the leappad when it was £59 on Amazon last week (but its not due to be delivered until the end of nov, i hope it comes).

So have managed to get most of the christmas shoppong done before we get snowed in and before the shops get too busy.

I went into Toys R Us yesterday to get a few bits (mostly for DD birthday) and there seemed to be a few offers on.

Disney Princess 'Charm' dolls (like barbie) were half price (7.49 instead if 15 pounds)

There were a few others but can't remember what now.

We are lucky that we have a tkmaxx very close by which we walk through to get to town so I have picked up some bits from there too - Peppa Pig keyboard for 13 pounds, a breyer model horse for 9.99 (this years commemorative one currently rrp 30 pounds) so most of the kids in the family are sorted.

Oh, and QD's have some name toys in at very good prices. I bought a Brio toy (interactive duck?) For 3.99

I am fortunate that I can buy these things as I see them though but I understand a lot of people are not.

Argos are supposed to be doing another 3 for 2 starting next Thursday. A really nice member of staff told me yesterday when I was in looking at the Lego.

The Sainsburys half price toy sale should be on next week (half term). Though they no longer have the main pressie DS wanted (Lego Police Station). I was thinking of gettting that an the other thing he wanted from Boots but cant actually think of a third he would want...

I stayed up until midnight last year for Sainsburrys sale and got nothing online (as it crashed) but picked up a few bits in store. I think Argos and play.com do some of the best deals.
