DD is getting playmobil castle, so that's one main present down! However DS isn't at the age to 'want' anything really. I 've got some brio off ebay (tunnels, sheds, extra track) for his birthday, so, do i just get more brio or can some one suggest something a bit more original?

Not much info here but just thought it might be nice to see other peoples suggestions for stuff that I might not have thought of.. (no bonkers budgets please!)

My ds is 4 now dd is nearly 3 and the best thing we've ever brought are the mini micros, they got there's when they were 2 and could ride them imeadiatly, they use them every day. Fantastic things!

Ds also loves the elc 'build it' sets he has the race car and it came with a little drill.

Train track with a motorised train, he has brio, trackmaster and take and play sets (thanks gps)

I have a nearly 4 yo old DS and at the moment he plays loads still with his Happyland, Duplo (if you don't have any yet, I would recommend a basic set, the set that have numbers on it as its great for counting/adding/subtracting and the big board to build more 3D things), Orchard Toys puzzles and games (particularly 20 piece puzzles like the fire engione, bus, teddy bears picnic; games like opposites, dominos and misfits), Sleich farmyard animals, doctor's kit, policeman's kit and helmet, Bosch tool set, play food and kitchen and iron/kettle/toaster etc and, mofre than anything else, his wooden trains, track, stations, bridge, windmill and all that. The ELC big city garage has gone down well too. And Playmobil - particularly the swimming pool, aeoplane and pirate ship and basic farm bits.

For Christmas, I am reining it in as he has so much. My parents are getting him a wendy/play house for indoors. We are getting him wooden Thomas bits like Tidmouth Sheds, repair shed and risers etc, and more Sleich animals. And he will get Playdoh bits too from othfr family members.

If you really are struggling, what about looking forward to next summer and getting things to play with outside?
