An ipad from DH. Very nice, but we already have an ipad. He thought it would be nice for me to have my own ipad "instead of having to share it with the family". I feel so ungrateful but would rather have had some nice smellies, chocs and books . . .

I am stunned how much some people spend at christmas. genuinely.

Himalaya · 26/12/2010 18:47

EdgarAlenPie - love the dress. Have been hankering after one for a while. Think i'm going to get myself one when I hit my diet goal (and then continuing to fit it will be my incentive not to bounce back...). How did your gift buyer get the sizing right, or did you go and try on?

EdgarAleNPie · 26/12/2010 19:19

I went shopping with my sister in November to try them on (i really haven't been out in Xmas shopping levels of business, not this year) and we tried dresses on.

the sizing is quite an exact science as there is no give in the material but you still want a tight enoughfit to flatter curves...your normal dress size is not a guide! however if dress is returned in good conition they will exchange or so i'm told...

ithe cup sizing runs fairly true though I fall betwen sizes as an e cup which was very tight in d-e and too loose in e-g ..i may alter the dress myself rather than returning though as i may put the weight back on (well, my hormones may re-inflate my boobs for me) and I want the extra material just in case.

TheHollyAndTheGoober · 26/12/2010 19:27

So.. up the top of the thread I said "PILs went very quiet when I said that because we don't have a bath, only a shower, I was glad I couldn't possibly get Yet More Smellies this year. We shall see..."

I got a large round Baylis and Harding box. About the size of a small dinner plate.

Inside, it had two hand creams and two shower gels. Making up the space, there was another smaller box which had christmas cake figurines in it (I had asked for these last week in case they hadn't had any ideas what to get me).

CLEARLY the box was supposed to have about ten bottles in it so I think they took out all the bath salts/soaps/etc after I said 'no bath'. But I have a gazillion hand and body creams in my bathroom already. I must smell, really.

Got my pearl earrings though. Lovely DH.
