Is it too early to start drinking?

DC are screaming at each other. House is a tip. Surely just one or two wouldn't hurt...

it is for me. have everyone at mine tonight and have made a vow to myself not to start drinking before they arrive.

will be challenging enough to keep my cool with awkward family members without being half cut.

if you don't have this kind of challenge then no it's not too early to start drinking and have a large one for me

i'm saving the champagne till everything is done bar heating and serving.

it has been tempting to stick a slug of bailey's in my neverending cups of coffee but i'm resisting.

i need my limited wits about me.

Well you do if your family are as awkward as you say.

Fortunately for me my only my Mum and Dad are coming today so that should be ok.

Have got PIL for lunch tomorrow so will be drinking spritzers and telling teetotal MIl that it is lemonade

LOL! Yes, too early IMO for Christmas Eve drinking, although like the others have been sorely tempted to have a little something whilst prepping/last minute cooking.

We are off to friends for a party this afternoon so I will remain off the booze until then, I think.

Not only is she teetotal, she can't see the point of other people drinking either, hence the lemonade lie.

the alternative is to make her spritzers and tell her it's lemonade of course.

No that's a thought.....

I once saw the mother of my best friend at university get hammered on Pimms. She thought it was lemonade with fruit in.
