Mine are:

That it will snow and tomorrow's tesco delivery will not make it through (unthinkable nightmare- am working, and no time/ inclination to shop and lug the lot home by hand!)

That dc's will be somehow disappointed with presents

(Illogical one) that we will all come down with vomiting bug and that my carefully planned out Christmas will be ruined

That the tree will be bald soon- despite spending extra on "non-needledrop" Nordmann fir, it seems a bit more fragile this year than in previous years! If you touch it, it sheds loads!

That our best friends who we always spend the New Year with won't be able to make it through because of snow.

That I have spent far too much!

What are you silently fretting about?

I was worried about power cuts... We had one earlier! Thank goodness it only lasted a couple of hours. All our stuff is in the freezer but it's all ok I think.

comewhinewithme · 22/12/2010 14:33

That although we have been lucky (this time) and avoided the snow my online food order will somehow fuck up.

That the dc will be ill as two of them have coughs and colds atm :(.

That my Mother is going to cause a massive row on xmas day.

That I have to go shopping on xmas eve.

upahill · 22/12/2010 14:34

I have no worries about Christmas tbh.
I'm quite happy.

aBrightStarWithFestiveWays · 22/12/2010 14:41

That we won't be able to travel to family as planned.

That we will try and travel, only to get stuck in massive snowdrift or have horrible crash.

That we won't try and travel, only to discover afterwards that the roads were clear and it would have been no problem.

Frosty what happened to your DH? It sounds miserable, him being in pain :(

Sprouts I really hope you get your PS3 situation sorted. Maybe contact a repair outlet for an opinion, if the seller is unhelpful?

aBrightStarWithFestiveWays · 22/12/2010 14:42

Oh, missed one: that the prominent red rash that DS has apparently developed all over his torso while at nursery today is the start of some serious illness [fretful mother emoticon]

FluffyDonkey · 22/12/2010 14:43

I'm worried that my flight home to my parents' will be cancelled tomorrow.

And even if it isn't cancelled I'll be delayed by hours so spend AGES in the airport only to get to the UK at 2am and have to ring my parents to get me in the freezing cold and snow.

And my luggage will be lost so no one will have any presents.

Ditto for DH's plane next week.

Ditto for our flight back after New Year!

My biggest worry is my flight being cancelled and me having to find a last minute train to MIL's to avoid spending Christmas alone.

Joolyjoolyjoo · 22/12/2010 20:08

Glad I'm not the sole fretter- really feel for those of you that have to travel Xmas Sad

But at least one of my worries can be laid to rest- tesco order arrived IN FULL today- Yay!! And butcher order also in, so at least we will all have food

Although one of dd's best friends was sent home ill from school today, so concentrating my fretting energy on threat-of-illness now. Not much point in having a fridge and freezer full to bursting if noone is well enough to eat..

That we will not have recovered from the d and v bug we have.

That dh, who has so far avoided the bug, will now get it.

That illness/bad weather will prevent us from travelling to my parents on friday.

That the deafness I am suffering from after perforating both eardrums will not improve before Saturday.

That I have to do all the cooking at said parents as my mum unwell after knocking herself out.

That, if we can't go away, we will have no food and no oven to cook any purchased food in and no presents as they are all at my parents house already.

And worst of all, we might end up a my mil's with her cooking and fil, who is recovering from falling downstairs last week.

ReshapeWhileDamp · 22/12/2010 21:31

That the snow and travel condits will mean we won't have a set of grandparents on the day. DS2 born 2 days ago, DS1 badly needing someone devoted to giving him fuss and attention. PIL can't get caravan out of snowy trackway so would only be able to make it down by car for a feww hours (dog issues) and my own parents have diabetic cat issues (!) so only mother wld be able to stay the night.

Also, that DS2's latch will continue to make me sore and I'll get into problems just when BFCs aren't available. (actually, I do have a great indep MW who would come over and help. And MN!)

That my mum was right when she said she thinks she's getting a cold, and we'll all get it over christmas.

That I won't even manage to wrap presents the way things are going.

Day 2. Milk has just come in, hormones are everywhere. Can you tell?

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 22/12/2010 21:36

Oh I feel humbled - I'm fretting about not wanting to travel 40mins on snowy roads, nothing like some of y'all Sad.

I am worried that it's not feeling very magical - first Christmas that DD is aware we're alone and I'm feeling the pressure a bit. I'm a bit sad about not getting any post. I am mega-fretting about the amount of work I have to do (and yet doing nothing). I am worried about the hens and the rabbit in the cold. And the woodpecker - it must be hard on the beak all this.

Pantofino · 22/12/2010 21:36

That dd will open all her pressies by 8.30, then that kids tv will go on and dh will sit on the PC playing Yahtzee for 8 hours straight, whilst I cook food and feel pissed off. Like last year.

ragged · 22/12/2010 21:38

That we won't even notice it happened because except for a lot of new stuff to dust and clutter up the house we haven't planned to do anything special....

mumeeee · 22/12/2010 21:44

That I won't get the Asda delivary tommorow it was origannly due on Tueday but cancelled the day before, It is now due to arrive between 10 and 12 tommoorrow morning,
I'll never finish the Christmas shoppin. Stil haven't got DD2's, She was 21 on the 8th of this month and has only just given me a couple of ideas. Of course when I went into town to buy them ther weren't in stock.
Tjat we won't get to our Christmas Binner. We are eating out this year.

lololizzy · 22/12/2010 21:45

have to go without heating because we run out of money for the meters (happened last year)

RockinRobinBird · 22/12/2010 22:06

That I'll still be ill and will have to wave dd and dh off to my parents' while I stay at home in bed on my own.

That I won't get to do all the little things for dd that I had planned like reindeer dust and making mince pies together and that the first Christmas that she really can appreciate will be shite.

BikeRunSki · 22/12/2010 22:15

That we won't get to the West Country where mum is hosting Christmas to me, DSis and DBro + partners and gc.

That DSis will be a bitch and we will have a massive fight.

That we will get stranded on M5 in snow with a 2 year old.

That 5 hour journey with 2 year old will be hell.

That DSis and I will get there, but DBro won't.

That mum will have "forgotten" that I am veggie (it has been 23 years now).

That DS will fall down my mum's v long twisty stairs with a stone floor at the bottom.

Lynli · 22/12/2010 22:24

That MIL will not come. She is suffering from dementia. She has unplugged her phones, so no one can talk to her.

She said she is not coming for Christmas, she is going to lock her self in the house on her own.

She told me not to buy her a present as she cannot be bothered to buy any for anyone.

ClaireDeLoon · 22/12/2010 22:39

That the ocado order will not arrive.

That the ocado order will arrive and I won't be able to fit in all in the fridge.

That DP's family won't be able to make it on Boxing Day due to the weather.
