Christmas Ham

Want to do a ham for Christmas this year but haven't done one before.

Is it too early to cook it on Wednesday, if so when should I cook it and does anyone have any good recipes for me.

I have done the Nigella ham in cherry coke recipe a few times and it has always gone down very very well :)

Def too early to cook on Wednesday. I'd cook it at the earliest on Christmas eve.

I'd also second Nigella's ham in coke (not done the cherry coke one though).

Cooked ham will keep inside a foil tent in the fridge for a week, according to Nigella. If Wednesday works best for you then go with that - no point in giving yourself undue stress if the following days are too busy. Otherwise, I tend to agree with the others and would cook Christmas Eve morning, although I am pretty certain that last year I cooked a ham on 23rd without any huge issues :o .

Thanks very much everyone. Is this the Nigella recipe and if I want to do the cherry coke one, is it as simple as swapping the cola?
