Drinks help please

Dp has bought me a bottle of Prosecco today. What can I do with it to make a delicious drink for Christmas day?

Is it possible to buy peach puree? My blender has died so I can't make it.

Or is it nice with cassis maybe? Or something else?

And please can somebody tell me if it would be possible/nice to make mulled pear cider and if so, how would I go about it please?

Thanks. :)

Campari is great if mixed with the right thing. It needs something sweet like Prosecco to make it work. What is in Nigella's Seasonal Breeze?

TheGoddessBlossom · 19/12/2010 19:53

paintstripper Campari, Blood red OJ and Cranberry juice...

taffetazatyousantaclaus · 19/12/2010 20:12

Silly Nigella, I'm not surprised its disgusting, OJ and Cran far too acidic and sharp to go with it.

panettoinydog · 19/12/2010 20:20

I love campari with fresh o juice. I will be buying some this chroistmas

taffetazatyousantaclaus · 19/12/2010 21:00

maybe you should offer thegoddess a couple of quid for her bottle

panettoinydog · 19/12/2010 21:05
Grin

I know exactly what goddess means about the paint stripper taste. I just happen to like those nail varnishy overtones.

Pictures Pointy gulping down the Chanel Rouge Noir.

Now - am I allowed to ask another drinks question on here or do I need to start a new thread?

bring it...

BelligerentYhoULE · 20/12/2010 17:41

Does that mean, ask away?

Okay!

We go to sing carols on the green on Christmas Eve and last year I noticed that smarter people than us had taken flasks and cups with them, so that they had something hot to drink whilst the vicar thumped out his out of tune carols.

What would be nice to take in a flask?

Am wondering about Baileys hot chocolate maybe? Mulled cider? What?

And what about a flask for the dds?

Thanks. :)

A glug of pomegranate juice is nice in prosecco. Makes it go a little further.

BelligerentYhoULE · 20/12/2010 17:56

That sounds nice Bath - thank you.

Sweet mulled cherry wine or whatever it is they make at the German christmas market is Delicious when it's cold. Sweet, hot, juicy, alcoholic.

Not sure what they put in it. Wonder if there is a recipe for feuerwein. I think that's what it was called.

panettoinydog · 20/12/2010 18:28

We were all fighting over one mug of it in edinburgh on saturday evening.

BelligerentYhoULE · 20/12/2010 18:35

Yes - dp would like that - but I don't like it! Otherwise, it would be ideal.

I would do a hot strong rum cocktail: dark rum, hot apple juice, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon and honey.

BelligerentYhoULE · 20/12/2010 19:15

That sounds lovely - except for the rum.

I had a very bad rum-related experience on my 18th and can't even stand the smell of it now. :)

Calvados?

BelligerentYhoULE · 20/12/2010 20:47

Now you're talking! Dp would love that. :)

Is hot choc no good in a flask?
