Been planning and researching today for my menu, Ive got 9 for dinner (that includes 3 children who wont eat much)

Starter: Fig and Blue Cheese Tart with a fig and Walnut salad and vinaigrette.

Mains: Cashew and Carrot nut roast, Chestnut Roulade - Roat spuds and snips, Carotts, Mulled Red Cabbage, brocolli, Sprouts and Yourkshires.

Dessert: Xmas Pud, Yule Log, Mulled Xmas Crumble.

Laters: Porcini Mushroom Pate, cheeses, crackers etc grapes and so on

What do you think?

Any other craking veggie ideas?

no ideas for u, but can you please post your recipes in the food thread, as they all sound absolutely delicious and i am cooking veggie christmas dinner for the first time ever Xmas Grin (need a very cheeky emoticon!)

how old are the kids? That sounds lovely but starter doesn't sound child friendly at all to me.

Not sure about fig tart AND fig salad?

mountainmonkey · 15/12/2010 18:37

Sounds gorgeous! Are you a veggie yourself or is it just your guests? If you're not then my only advice would be to make sure there's no hidden animal products eg. rennet in the cheese or beef suet in the pudding.

this is the salad to go with the starter

Oh no, long standing veggie household!

TBH I'm not bothered about it being child friendly as they are all my kids Grin and the will eat plenty of the veggies, tatties and the nut roast as that is fairly standard sunday roast for us!
