When I bought mine, I had to buy it in US as it was not available here. I generally pay about $7 or $8 for a book.

But then I would pay two to three times that in a book store here (abroad).

The advantage with a Kindle is that I can be chatting to a friend and she recommends a book which I then download there and then and can read on the bus home.

Or, as was the case this summer, I finished a book and downloaded a new one on the beach in France.

I am in love with my Kindle.
I have the one with the 3g connection and I love buying books in bed Blush.
I also enjoy that with most books you can get a sample of a couple of chapters before buying the book so if you get a dud you haven't forked out any money.
You do honestly forget you are reading a screen.
