Do we get more points for owls lol

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 14/12/2010 10:38

No-one is seeing mine until Christmas day

domesticsluttery · 14/12/2010 12:01

My tree is on my profile.

It wasn't supposed to be going up until next weekend but DS1 and I have had flu so DH went and got a tree to cheer us up.

It probably won't win any design competitions, but it is real and most of the decorations were made by me, my mum and the DC.

YuleTideD0G · 14/12/2010 12:08

Yes I think there are definitely extra points for owls.

Domestic, your tree is lovely, I think you also gain extra points home made christmas decorations are lovely. A lot of the decorations were made by my mum and are at least 40 years old. I'd be devestated not to have them on my tree.

Extra points for foxes too? I appear to have several. And a nodding freisian cow.

YuleTideD0G · 14/12/2010 21:49

Most definitely extra points for foxes and fresians. I have camels on mine, are camels deserving of extra points? I think we need to devise a system Xmas Grin

I can just about work the camera. I can just about work the laptop. I have no idea how they communicate with each other. Our tree has;

  • an owl! in fact it looks like the same one
  • some knitted stuff
  • a gold medal DD (4) hung on it that the kitten keeps going for ( note to self - must remove when can be arsed )
  • your normal baubles etc, some from grandparents, some from travelling, some made by DC
  • chocolate moose ( from a few years ago, minus the chocolate but we still call him chocolate moose )
  • a selection of DD's hairclips that I found on it yesterday morning Xmas Hmm
mylifewithmangers · 15/12/2010 10:13

Finally put a pic of our up, as it was originally. DS (14m) has had a few goes at it since! I have to 'repair' it each evening. A big mix of decs, some homemade by kids etc. I buy one or two in the sales each year, always looking for quirky ones. Plus am buying one each for the kids each year, they will get given them in a big box when they are 18 (should be when they leave home No???).

Loving the owls, they had a tree full of them in the local garden centre - looked quite surprising!

indiechick · 15/12/2010 10:16

I can't, I'm too embarressed, it looks crap. I was ill at the weekend so DH and DD did it, with help from the two year old. It's depressing me it's so crap, but I can't say anything, they were trying to be helpful.

YuleTideD0G · 15/12/2010 10:21

Don't be embarrassed indie, have you seen mine? Xmas Grin

I'll have a look mylife, when I'm on pc.

mylifewithmangers · 15/12/2010 10:21

Ah, the helpful trees are the best though. And they will love them!

Forgot to say, for the purposes of the point scoring system - we have a little wooden rabbit that looks a bit like a bog brush, some dragonflies and a pottery moose. That get me anything?

My favourite decs are probably the tiny xmas trees made out of stained glass offcuts - I want more (got from a craft fair in Cardiff and have never seen the guy again Xmas Sad)

sharbie · 15/12/2010 13:36

aaaaaah Smile they are all lovely

I can't wait to post my pic at weekend - my tree is a post modern golden pyramid styleee red lighted affair with no decorations - interested??

GodRestYeMerryMummyLin · 16/12/2010 11:05
