Agh. It is the 10th of December and I have bought virtually nothing. Have done some Amazon orders but they've not arrived yet.

Tomorrow I am going to a small shopping area that has a Home Bargains and a Waitrose but not much else.

I need small gifts (a fiver-ish) for:

a 50-something man
a 30-something man
a 40-ish woman
a 14 year old girl

Plus a 'family present' around a tenner for friend, her husband and children aged 18, 15 and 11. Not DVD and popcorn and not a board game.

Or am I going to have to go and trawl in town again on Sunday? Could do without this!

What about something like this for the family?

BelligerentGhoul · 10/12/2010 20:48

Good idea - except I have done that before too.

Have done curry making kit; Chinese making kit; fondue stuff; DVD and popcorn; countless board games over the years. Trying to think of something original but it's v hard for a tenner!

girl?

BelligerentGhoul · 10/12/2010 20:50

Thanks but your link doesn't seem to work for that one.

Sorry 'twas this - just noticed they have false eyelashes as well!

50 something man - car care kit? De-icer etc - quite boring but at least it is useful in this weather.

30 something man - the same? Or maybe a laptop care kit - I think boots have them in 3 for2. It's little brushes and screenwiper etc.

40-ish woman - wine or cava. Or chocolate. Or posh olive oil

14 yr old girl - cinema voucher?

Family - not sure, tricky one. Will keep thinking.

A five pound iTunes voucher for the 30-something man ;-)

For the family this

Saw it on offer last weekend at Toys r us for £7.99. We have a similar one and had lots of fun with it with all ages including grandparents!

Can you not up your budget? X

christmaswishes · 10/12/2010 21:54

If you have a tenner for 5 people, prob best to get them posh chocolates to share x

BelligerentGhoul · 10/12/2010 22:02

No to upping the budget - we've made an agreement! The two men pressies are just token gifts and the woman is a secret santa gift.

The girl's budget is more but we've already got part of it and just need a little 'filler' to go with it.

Looks like chocolates are the way to go! Posh olive oil might be good for one of the men.

Car and laptop kits no good - they are not that kind of man, I don't think! Food probably better tbh - or a book, maybe.
