I try to wrap as I buy, otherwise I run the risk of the kids finding them Ds is 10 and knows (whispers) FC is not real, Dd is almost 4 and will find anything hidden very quickly!

neverenoughMEtime · 10/12/2010 12:03

I did mine last night :)

I wait until the tree and decorations are up!

waitwhat · 10/12/2010 12:04

I do it all at 9pm on Christmas eve usually, Always say i will start earlier but it never happensXmas Blush

QuickLookBusySanta · 10/12/2010 12:05

SantasKnickersOnMyHead · 10/12/2010 12:05

First week in December I start wrapping, then wrap as I buy.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 10/12/2010 12:06

Last week Grin

loujay · 10/12/2010 12:06

Did all of mine wednesday whilst kids were out of the way............now have a very smug feeling...............also it stops me buying anything else Wink

Ragwort · 10/12/2010 12:07

Finished Xmas Grin - usually try to wrap as I buy - one present was wrapped and given in September - quite hard to find Christmas gift wrap at that time of year Xmas Smile.

orangepoo · 10/12/2010 12:09

All presents for adults wrapped as they are bought. Stuff for children is wrapped when I have a lot of time because I get it out of the (ridiculous) packaing, put together/put batteries in etc prior to wrapping so that child can have toy without all this work on christmas day.

SantasENormaSnob · 10/12/2010 16:25

Tonight.

After dcs Xmas fair.

I will be partaking in alcohol and nibbles to keep my energy up Xmas Grin

tulpe · 10/12/2010 16:31

Was supposed to be this week but as DS1 and I have had dreaded lurgy all week it hasn't happened. Will therefore be starting next week. Can't wait.

I always used to do my wrapping in the evening with a glass of wine and some festive music on. Sadly the DCs are not the sleepers they once were and I would have to wait until around 9.30pm to even think about sneaking gifts downstairs to wrap them! So now I make myself a coffee (occasionally with a cheeky Baileys in there if it is cold outside Wink ) and get busy at the kitchen table once DCs are safe in school.

mustdash · 10/12/2010 16:34

About 10.30 on Christmas Eve.....always regret it. Xmas Grin

MrsTumbles · 10/12/2010 17:10

orangepoo That is such a good idea! I'm glad that I've not started wrapping DD's prezzies yet, or I'd be unwrapping them all to assemble then re-wrapping Xmas Smile

I wait until I have bought everything then do a mass-wrap which is usually the weekend before Christmas

christmastimemistletoeandwine · 10/12/2010 17:13

my dp did ours last weekend.he doesnt like me doing it cause i dont do it as neat as him.Xmas Wink

SuePurblybiltByElves · 10/12/2010 17:14

I don't wrap for stockings. Tree stuff I'm wrapping at the moment.

tribpot · 10/12/2010 17:17

I haven't bought anything yet. Wrapping schmapping! Xmas Grin

cece · 10/12/2010 17:17

I did an hour today of things that have arrived the last couple of days. The stuff hidden in the garage hasn't been done yet. Will have to do before school breaks up though, so kids are out of the way.

BelligerentGhoul · 10/12/2010 17:31

I don't wrap the dc's presents until a couple of days before Christmas - because it takes me that long to buy them and check that their 'piles' will be similar sizes!

I aim to start wrapping stuff for family and friends tonight - I can't wait any longer to see what my beautiful wrapping paper looks like in use!

GrimmaTheNome · 10/12/2010 17:36

I wrap more or less as things arrive - but nowadays only DDs pressies as she likes to do everyone elses.

GruesomeShellChillingTortoise · 10/12/2010 17:40

Bought some paper today and will start wrapping next week while DC are still at school. As it is all in the loft it wouldn't be a good idea to get stuff out at night when little eyes may peak! lol!

SauvignonBlanche · 10/12/2010 17:41

I try to wrap as I buy and then hide them.

taffetazatyousantaclaus · 10/12/2010 17:42

I started what seems like ages ago - I can only cope with an hour max at a time, and I do get distracted......I am not especially keen on wrapping, as much as I love buying the presents and choosing the paper and ribbons, I can't quite seem to get enthusiasm for the final hurdle. Xmas Hmm

I have done about three quarters I reckon but still have all the stocking stuff to do - may do this Christmas Eve as its just tissue paper so should be okay to do a few mugs of mulled wine down......

BelligerentGhoul · 10/12/2010 20:31

Agh - I just started to wrap some and realised that I have only actually bought two and a half presents.

I am usually quite organised so how on earth have I managed to be so useless this year?

Off to start more threads for ideas!

ClaireDeLoon · 10/12/2010 20:37

I have wrapped most, did them last week but still not finished shopping. I don't have DC's so not as many to wrap though it seems like it!

WhatsWrongWithYou · 10/12/2010 20:42

I've wrapped all the stocking stuff I've bought so far, but have realised DS1 only has three things and two of those are chocolate!

Not done any actual presents yet but I'm drawing a blank for ideas.

Usually try not to have any left by the 24th but it rarely happens. The thing to do is go away the week before, as we are, so everything has to be done before you leave!
