Santa's Letters.... where do they go?

I was at the post office earlier - and noticed a letterbox for Santa.

Now (spoiler alert) i think Santa isn't real.... so what do they do with the letters? Do they steam off the stamps and reuse them? Do they recycle the letters?

don't be silly, they go to reindeerland at the north pole!

But everyone knows that letters to Father Christmas have to go up the chimney

I know they take the time to answer some of them ...

I know this because they answered ds's last year.. was sooo nice of them

well either that or it really did reach santa

Royal mail have a service where you write a letter to SAnta and enclose a stamp and the child gets a letter from Santa in return. Can't remember what the whole address is but the postcode is SAN TA1

and the Royal mail replied both to my dd's letters
