How do I do a roast beef? Any nice recipes about?

We are off to my parents for christmas day and are taking a large joint of beef with us.

The plan is to cook it on christmas eve as there will be no room in the oven on christmas day. My parents are doing a large turkey with all the trimmings etc.

Has anyone got any nice recipes please?

Cooking times needed too please as I have never roasted beef before
