do you remember those white mesh stockings, i want to buy one

As a kid, and my mumsays when she was a kiddy, we used to have all our sweets and small toys packed into a white mesh stocking, with red papery border. They probably came from Woolworths. I havent seen one in years. They were great becuase they could really stretch. Does anyone remember them ( late 70's early 80's).

You also used to see a similar stocking pre filled in shops.

only place I've seen them this year is in the pets section of the supermarkets as pets stockings!

i used to be so excited to get mine, it would be full to bursting, and it was a job to get anything out without getting a meshy paper cut!!

Yes i have seen that type inthe pets section, saw one today. Funny how they just disappeared over the yrs!

I expect its some ludicrous elf and safety ruling. Maybe someone got their finger caught in a hole or something ridiculous....

Oh, I remember them! Had completely forgotten until now!!

Only seen the pet ones, not seen the kids ones in years....hence forgetting all about them!
