i know, you are all going to scoff at me....but it's a good tip, i promise, and if you NEED holly near xmas there is never any of the stuff left cos the local W.I have either got it or the birds...

So go and pick the best bits NOW with berries on...
and stick the ends in a potato. It'll keep fresh. and alive.

Really? I suppose a potato does have alot of moisture in it and would do a similar job to damp oasis. I will try it and blame you if my holly dies!
