ideas for DD 5

Apologies if you have read this already, posted in chat as well as we are now desperate cutting it a bit fine.

We have no idea what to get my DD (5) for Christmas this year. She has all the 'big' things she needs at her age: bike, scooter, lovely dolls house, pink cd player, roller skates, vtech laptop, digital camera, dressing up etc

DS (3) is easy as he wants endless 'Hot Wheels', big remote control cars etc in amongst all the cheap tat that will go in stockings. But I feel mean if we don't give DD a 'main' present too. The only thing she has asked for is a dressing table but it won't fit in her room - ditto a 'play kitchen' that won't fit anywhere.

Any ideas? She is 5 going on 12 and is very precocious bright and chatty - often compared to Karen from Outnumbered...

We are getting so desperate that we started thinking about extending the playhouse in the garden to accomodate the kitchen. But it's not really feasible and it is fricking freezing out there so she wouldn't get to play with it for months Xmas Hmm

Any suggestions welcome.

how much do you want to spend? are you opposed to the idea of a ds? thats what my girls 6 and 5 are getting this year.

DD is 5, 6 in Feb, these are the things she has asked for/is getting from us and various rellies:

Big box of several Disney Princess jigsaws (100 pieces a go - she's moved beyond the little ones)
Gross Magic (I blame DH for this one)
Nerf gun (ditto, and her male cousins)
Disney Little Princess doll - Ariel version
Ariel bathtime mermaid doll
Ariel's plastic swan-type floaty thing (are you sensing a theme here?Wink)
Various Zhu Zhu hamster bits - she loves them and we have bought them for all her classmates birthday parties, but she hasn't got any of her own as yet
Playmobil 'fantasy' stuff - fairies and unicorns and a little castle playset to go with the other stuff she's already got
Lego - box of general bits as she likes building homes for her playmobil people
Books - the new Charlie & Lola and the new Julia Donaldson ones
Craft stuff

DD got given a play kitchen last year - she'd asked for a Skreature (water-spitting dinosaur) but friend decided she couldn't possibly want this and would rather have a kitchen - she's played with all the food/pots/pans but the actual plastic monstrosity has remained untouched and we chucked it in the summer, she has yet to notice... perhaps get her the food/implements instead?

She also has this and loves it - it's much smaller than a kitchen... any good?

Cherry no not opposed and should have added the DS to the list of the 'already gots'. But great suggestion and would have been ideal if she didn't already have one.

Lovecat - some fab suggestions, thank you (and oh yes, I think I might just be sensing a theme Grin)

Zhu Zhu accessories is a good idea. We currently have one hamster and ball but that's it (although I haven't seen the hamster in a while). And I sort of know that even if we did have the space for a plastic monstrosity play kitchen, it would be a 5 minutes wonder (even the one at Ikea can only hold her attention for 2 mins). But the fruit stall is lovely and I am now about to google Skreature Blush

does she like music/stories.

We got dd1 a CD player for room with some music cds and some story CD books, so she can listen in her room.
