I have never made one before but would like to make one with toddler DD. There are SO many recipes online I am getting all in a muddle.

What do I need? Also, when cooking it says put them in basin to steam? I just don't understand this, do I need to buy something special? I have a Lakeland Grin

I use the classic Delia recipe and it makes a good pudding.
You need, apart from ingredients, a large saucepan - preferably with a steamer, though that isn't vital, a pudding basin or two, greaseproof paper + foil and string!
You can boil/steam the puddings in a saucepan, though you need to keep topping up the water as it boils away.

Ok so need to buy foil and string, have no steamer. A pudding basin like this ok?

And it's ok to make now for Christmas day?

Thank you!

yes make now

the earlier you do it the better.

you could make 2, one for next year, and by next year it will be even yummier than this years one.

Ive been feeding mine brandy for a few weeks now, made 4 weeks ago

Sorry, feeding it brandy?! You'll have to explain! Total novice.

every week from mid november you feed it with brandy

aka drizzle a tablespoonful or so on the top which soaks in.
So you have to unwrap them all. drizzle brandy then re-wrap
