Present ideas for teacher

I am very fortunate to have a piano teacher as a neighbour. This gentleman teaches my DS piano and won't accept any payment for it as he and his partner ask me to look after his cats when they are away.

I know how lucky I am as a weekly piano lesson far outweighs any cat-sitting I am called upon to do during the year.

I give little gifts during the year but like to give something substantial at Christmas by way of saying "a huge thank you for teaching my son".

For the last three Christmas' I have bought: Xmas1 - case of wine; Xmas2 - hamper; Xmas 3 - tickets to a show and dinner.

Am happy to pay £250.00 for something that he can enjoy (with his partner in the case of all the pressies so far bought). But am having problems thinking of something different/original this year.

Any ideas????

wow, that is alot of money! do you actually mean £250??

i'm very into giving digital photo frames as presents, so there's one thought.

if they are into gardening, how about an annual membership to RHS for £49.

It's half what you'd pay for a weekly lesson. And show tickets with dinner aren't cheap... So I'm thinking she might mean that much

Holiday vouchers that they can use for a weekend away or put towards a longer break?

Timbachick · 24/11/2010 14:43

Yes, I do mean £250 - as gillybean says, once you add up the cost of a weekly session this amount is actually only half! I would be willing to push to £300 if it was something significant.

Good idea on the holiday vouchers and they do like gardening ... perhaps a combo gift with lots of things they'd like????

Thank you for your ideas.
