Anyone know of any shops selling the Harry potter lego cheap?

Ds has just decided after seeing it to ask Santa for some But it is really expensive it is the only thing he has asked for though. but I have allready spent a lot of his budget so any ideas?

I haven't seen any offers - DS2 has asked for a hefty amount of it too.

However, if you sign up to the Lego VIP scheme and buy from them direct you can quickly build up a lot of points which you can redeem in store or on line.

I have looked tulpe and it seems a bit old for DS he is 4yo so I am trying to find something else but someone said tescos have them for £100 but with clubcard vouchers you can double up on toys so would only need £50 of vouchers if this helps you.

They do smaller kits. It might be better to get a smaller one to see if he really plays with it, maybe top it up with a battling wand and a dvd or something else Potter ish. Using the Tesco scheme that would be ten pounds rather than 50 I think.

Can you ask anyone else to go in with you? If one of our DC wants something expensive, we explain Santa has had contributions from family members as it was a big ask, what with the economy being the way it is. Grandparents/aunties or anyone?

I would have got family to go in shares but I have been told it is for age 8 up and not suitable for DS age 4

The age 8 up recommendation is for ease of building. Could you explain that you will build most of it and he will play with it?

.......or if you have already got most of his present, why not go on ebay and bid for some Harry Potter figures or playsets? These may be better for playing with for a 4 yo anyway, as Lego does crumble a bit.....

taffetacat I saw this I thought I would get that and one of the chaeper lego setshere and see which style he prefers. My dad lives abroad and always sends £50 for each of the children as he does not see them and it is DS birthday in January and if he likes the lego I could look in the sales with my dads money then.

Have you looked on Amazon? They do children's toys, but don't know if they will have it or how much

Looked at amazon the Harry potter sets seem like gold dust ATM.

I think doubling up tesco points is as good as you'll get...

Thanks for the tesco info but I already bought back in October when Lego VIP points were double per purchase (having 2 DSs who both love Lego it will hopefully contribute to next years birthday gifts).

HP figures are better for 4 year olds to play with rather than Lego. Toys r us have a good selection of figures and wands. We also bought the room sets for DS2's 5th birthday so they might be a better alternative.
