Stockings for adults

If you were doing a Christmas stocking for an adult, what sort of thing would you put in?

Mock me if you must, but I have decided that it would be nice for DP and I to do stockings for each other this year (only our 2nd Christmas where we haven't gone to parents so still establishing traditions).

DP's feelings are basically 'Yes ok then.' followed by 'What goes in a stocking?'

In my mind children's stockings have a chocolate orange and colouring pencils and socks and hair bobbles nad little things like that. What's the adult equivalent?

Ha ha - yes, some kind of hangover cure a v good idea. Possibly a tub of Andrews Liver salts Smile

I did this for DP last year as I love doing stockings.

Last year I got DP:

Lynx shower gel
A couple of bottles of Ale
A copy of Private Eye
Haribo sweets
Toblerone
A beanie hat
Posh crisps
A new toothbrush
Socks
Choc money
A keyring

and a few other things I can't quite remember!

liqueur chocs
secondhand book
toothbrush

for him to give you...

some fav toiletries eg. body shop or whatever you like, but is a bit pricier than Tesco's own!
earrings/ necklace
chocs
haribo tanfastics (if you're me)
satsumas
large quality street green triangle
socks/ knickers
nail varnish if you use and he's good at guessing
nice pen
diary

musicalmummy, glad we aren't the only family who always got toothbrushes!!! I also once got an extension lead (that was when my Mum was Santa!)

Don't forget to put something naughty in - like one of those buzzy things you can put round his willy, or some undies made of sweets or something. We can't do that anymore because we have to open our stockings in front of the children [embarrassed]

TrillianAstra · 21/11/2010 22:32

For undies made of sweets wouldn't you have to remove all hair down there before you wore them?

Um - no? Surely if you're thinking that way, it would follow that you'd have to remove all hair before doing anything down there wouldn't it? And I don't! Maybe I'm just grim Grin

I'm not usually biting things though...

We do adult stockings. For DH this year the list is going to be roughly along these lines.

Music book to go with the trumpet I'm buying him
Maybe other books
Chutney or similar
Chocolate coins (because he is about 8 years old at heart)
Smellies
Satsuma
Hat
A couple of gadgets/puzzle/game things

He puts smellies, chocolates, books, maybe some earrings etc in mine. Occasionally he has gone a bit overboard and got me perfume/jewellery or v.expensive smellies on top of whatever my 'main' present was, but generally we set a budget and stick to it otherwise it just gets out of hand.

Ours have to be clean as we spend Christmas at my parents and stockings are opened in front of everyone Grin
